When our dog, Sydney, was younger she was a tremendous jumper. She was very interested in the dog next door and wanted to see him. And so, Sydney would jump up to the top of the 7 foot cinder block wall that separated our houses, hold onto the top of the wall with her front paws for a few minutes and then, carefully slide back down. She did this repeatedly per each "visit." We never had to trim her nails!
Later, when Sydney was introduced to a swimming pool, we discovered that, like many dogs she loved to "nip" at the water. She never wanted to get into the pool, but always stayed by the children, supervising and nipping the water. However, when the children played in the pool and used their water toys, we discovered that she loved to bite the water from the water guns. She would stay put for an extended time while the kids gave her a drink. And then, when a race between swimmers was announced with, "On your mark, get set, go!" Sydney became the official announcer because she barked each time she heard "On your mark, get set..."
